As the host club of the Dolphin Coast Marathon, we’re proud of the event reputation that we’ve built over the past six running’s of the race. The stature and quality of the event is due in no small part to the time and commitment of our members who volunteer over the course of the race planning and on the event weekend.

As DCS leadership, we’re conscious that putting on KZN’s premier marathon is a double-edged sword, precluding our own members from enjoying the experience of running this fantastic and scenic race. Whilst we cannot make far reaching changes in this regard without putting event standards at risk, we have looked at various opportunities to afford our members the opportunity of running the race.

This year, we are expanding on the historical lucky draw – specifically, DCS members will be able to enter by the following means:

  1. The traditional lucky draw, for an opportunity to enter the race (total 10)
    1. Enter the draw via the Google Forms at Dolphin Coast Marathon 2022 Lucky Draw Form
    2. At May’s Club Night (26 May) we will draw 10 names, who will be allowed to enter the race (standard entry fees apply).
    3. This entry form will be closed at noon on 26 May 2022.

  1. Charity Entries (total 20)
    1. 20 Entry Opportunities will be reserved for DCS Members who raise a minimum of R2’000 for the race charity, The LINC Foundation.
    2. These entries will be sold on the DCS Website, and will be charged at R2’000 plus the entry fee for the race chosen.
    3. Members securing these opportunities will have their entries manually captured by the team, and will not need to enter on the main entry platform.

Whilst we’d love to afford all our members the opportunity of entering the Dolphin Coast Marathon, the event would not happen without the 150 odd volunteers it requires. Not only does the event generate a significant component of our annual revenue which is employed to the benefit of all our members, but it sets the standard for other races in the region, which we take part in throughout the year.

We’re all very excited about this year’s race, and look forward to putting on a great show for the running community.
